It is important to augment your "tool" skills with skills that keep you out of trouble and/or gets you out of trouble without escalating to deadly force. It's valuable skill not only for when you are carrying, but critically important for when you aren't.
We then head over into realistic expectations for your carry gear, tayloring it to your reality and the world you live in, based on location, occupation, dress code etc.
